Robert L. Moody, Jr.

President

Mr. Robert L. Moody, Jr. is a fifth generation Moody. His family has owned or managed the insurance, banking, and ranching industry for many years all throughout Texas, and has founded several insurance companies. The Moody Family is well known throughout Galveston Island, Texas and is a strong supporter of community interests.

Robert L. Moody, Jr. is the Owner of Moody Insurance Group, Inc. (a privately owned insurance agency) founded by Mr. Moody in 1986.  Mr. Moody serves as President and Director of Moody Insurance Group, Inc. currently and plays a very important role in marketing products to a hierarchy of agents in the health, annuity, accident, and life insurance industry nationally.  Mr. Moody has developed a stable company that meets the demands and product flexibility needs of the insurance agent so that they may meet the ever-changing needs of their clients.  Through this insurance agency experience and directorships, Mr. Moody is able to bring valuable insight from the agent’s perspective to the various boards that he serves upon.  Mr. Moody serves as a Board Member and Director of Moody National Bank,  HomeTown Bank, National Association (National Bank) and the Moody Endowment (Charitable Organization) as well as the Mary Moody Northern Foundation.

Mr. Moody believes in the American way of life and old fashioned family values.  He is dedicated to making the business world an equitable place to conduct business. He believes in fighting for the underdog if necessary, being fair and just in all business practices, and dealing with people whose word still means something.  He is the voice for many who have no voice.

James Rankin

National Marketing Director for Life, Annuities, and Retirement Planning

James M. Rankin entered the Life Insurance industry during the summer of his Junior year in college. Mr. R.L. Moody, Sr. gave him an opportunity to sell life insurance, so he could finish his degree. James was a leading agent for National Western Life and has never looked back. James has been an agent, agency manager, Regional Director and National Marketing Director and has been responsible for over $500,000,000.00 in annuities, life and securities sales during his thirty-eight years in the industry. James has specialized in the design of institutional marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies & credit unions and has written numerous articles in national publications on financial services. He has appeared on Financial Solutions television show in Puerto Rico several times along with hosting two radio shows that dealt with financial matters. James was instrumental in designing a proprietary GUL product and an annuity product. An accomplished author of over fourteen books including two sales training books, James’s newest book is entitled, ‘Income Engineering’ which will be a pivotal piece to his department as he trains financial professionals in educating their clients with financial literacy, cross selling financial products and creating a referral based practice. James will be facilitating our Annuities, Life, Retirement Planning webinars and study groups and will be conducting one-on-one coaching for our brokers. He is a graduate of Texas State University. James is an enthusiastic advocate for the insurance industry along with sales and marketing training for insurance professionals.
